Admission Requirements Tuition and Fees Program Structure


A Bachelor of Business Administration degree gives you the prerequisites and exemptions that you need for professional accounting, finance and human resource management programs. Gain practical experience and prepare for the real work world through our core IT management and software application courses.

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) offers the Bachelor of Business Administration degree in collaboration with Keyano College. You can take all four years of the degree at our Clearwater Campus in Fort McMurray.

Many professional associations require a degree before they will grant a designation, so a business degree is a great way to further your career potential. Some career options include:

Admission requirements

High school diploma (or equivalent)

Apply to Keyano College to enter Year 1 of the program. You must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) with:

  • A minimum of 55% in Math 30-1 or 55% in Math 30-2
  • A minimum of 60% in English 30/30-1 or 65% in English 33/30-2

Current grade 12 students can submit an application on or after October 1 and we will process the application for admission. Any students with 5% or higher on the program admission requirements and school timetable showing they are registered in appropriate grade 12 courses may be given conditional acceptance into programs.

Mature students

If you're a mature student who is 21 years or older, you can be admitted by:

  • completing the required Math and English courses (with the grades specified); or
  • receiving a pass mark on the College Entrance Assessment; or
  • applying as a Special Student who may take up to four courses (one per term) without meeting all of the admission requirements.

English Language Proficiency

You must have:

  • TOEFL: iBT with a minimum score of 79 with no score below 19
  • IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0
  • CAEL with a minimum score of 60
  • MELAB with a minimum score of 80

Entering Year 3 of the program

You must apply to NAIT for to enter Year 3 of the Bachelor Business Administration degree program. You'll need to have completed the 2-year Business Administration Diploma through Keyano College with a minimum GPA of 2.3.

If you have a Business Administration Diploma from another post-secondary institute, NAIT will assess your transferability.

Advanced Credit

After you've been accepted into the program, you can apply for advanced credit. This includes:

  • Transfer Credit (for completed post-secondary courses);
  • Credential Recognition (for completed certificates, diplomas or degrees); or
  • Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR).
