Admission Requirements Tuition and Fees Program Structure
Our English programs, courses and assessments fit many different types of needs you may have to boost or provide evidence of your English language skills.
College and Career Preparation Program
You can boost your English language skills as part of our College and Career Preparation program. This program helps you upgrade your education level to let you enter apprenticeships, college programs, university programs or to help you gain employment skills.
The program is made up of subjects and skills in the Grades 10, 11 and 12 equivalency levels. Your background and goals will determine the program's length of time. You will obtain Grade 12 credentials to open doors to post-secondary programs and the entry level job market.
In some instances, we can grant credits if you have completed high school-level courses in Canadian English-language schools or Canadian post-secondary institutions.
Career Opportunities
Depending on your career goals, taking the College Preparation program will prepare you for post-secondary programs in:
- Business
- Biological, Environmental and Earth Sciences
- Community and Human Service
- Engineering and Engineering Technology
- Health Sciences
- Power Engineering and Process Operations
- Trades and Technologies
Admission Requirements
It is important to first meet with a student advisor, counsellor or program chairperson to determine your educational and career goals before applying to the College and Career Preparation program.
To be admitted to the program, you must:
- be a Canadian citizen, have a study permit or have permanent residence status,
- complete the Academic Foundations Certificate program, with a minimum grade of 'C' in both Academic Foundations Language Arts 009 and Academic Foundations Math 009; or
- complete a program of studies equivalent to Alberta Grade 9; or
- be a mature student (a mature student has been out of school for at least three consecutive years and is at least 21-years-old).
You may be required to write a placement assessment so we can determine your entry level in the field of study you have selected.
Tuition and Fees
Find more tuition and fee information in our Keyano College Credit Calendar. You must pay for tuition yourself or you may be able to get funding from the Alberta Works Grant program.
