Instructor Biography

Roger Davies

Following an education in Computer Technology, Roger joined the Electrical Engineering department at The Steel Company of Canada where he worked with the maintenance personnel in various production mills.

This practical experience led him into the second phase of his career of implementing computer-based process control systems for asset-intensive industries across North America. His focus was on SCADA, DCS and process instrumentation applications for heavy industry. This activity resulted in direct contact with engineering and maintenance personnel industry wide.

Throughout his career, constant exposure to industrial maintenance paved the way for a natural evolution into becoming a maintenance management specialist in the areas of best business practices and associated software tools. After working for a few companies that developed and implemented computerized maintenance management systems, (CMMS), Roger formed his own corporation, The Da-trol Group Inc., in 1987. Da-trol’s value added services all relate to optimizing company’s profitability through improved maintenance operations whether with policies and procedures, several software tools or consulting.

Aside from his Da-trol activities, Roger has also instructed many maintenance management courses through six Colleges in Ontario and Alberta for the past 15 years. He also develops curriculum to satisfy the specific needs of individual companies.
