You can submit your application online through Apply Alberta. If you would like to apply to one of our programs, you should begin the application process well in advance of the program start date. This process can take at least six months.

Our admissions process values both academic achievement and English language proficiency, while also prioritizing diversity. We aim to create an inclusive environment that reflects diverse perspectives, and actively encourage applications from international students. Application requirements

Along with your form and fee, you will need to include the following information with your application:

  • International education credentials, certificates and final exam results 
  • A copy of your diploma or degree if applicable
  • Your English Language proficiency results
  • Any documents that your program requires

After we review your documents, you may be required to complete an International Qualifications Assessment Service assessment on all official documents.

Study permit

If you are not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, you must obtain a valid Study Permit before you come to Canada. For additional information on obtaining an Apply for Study Permit, visit Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

 

Accepted students must submit proof of a valid study permit on your MyKeys portal on or prior to the deadlines below. Acceptance into the program will be revoke and students will be dropped from all registered courses if proof has not be submitted by the deadline. Acceptance may be reinstated only if proof of valid study permit is submitted and the program capacity allows. 

    • Fall Intake - deadline August 1st
    • Winter Intake - deadline December 1st
    • Summer Intake - deadline April 1st

The study permit is being collected exclusively to verify your eligibility to commence your studies at Keyano College. No other details on your study permit will be assessed or used for any other purpose by Keyano College. It is the student's responsibility to adhere to all regulations concerning their study permit.  Tuition Maximum Letters

Tuition Maximum Letters outline the estimated tuition maximums for international students. This in accordance with the Tuition and Fee guidelines set by the Government of Alberta. Tuition maximums are guaranteed for the standard duration of your intended program assuming a 100% standard course load of required courses each term. Tuition Maximums do not reflect the amount owing, but a maximum amount to support your planning. 

Tuition maximums are tuition only and do not include Student Association fees, non-instructional fees, textbooks and supplies, mandatory health and dental and any living expenses. 

Upon acceptance into your program our admissions department will provide you a Tuition Maximum Letter along side you other admission documents. If one was not included in your acceptance please contact admissions@keyano.ca and one will be provided to you.

Co-op Work Permit  

Many Keyano College programs have a mandatory work-integrated aspect of their learning component. Students in these programs, at some point in their studies, will be required to go on a practicum, or co-op. International students are required to obtain a co-op work permit from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) prior to the beginning of their practicum.  Learn more from the Canadian government about co-op programs for international students. 

To apply for your co-op work permit you will need a letter from Keyano College which confirms that you need to complete work and/or community service placements.

Accepted international student will received their     Co-op Work Permit letter alongside their Letter of Acceptance (LOA). If you have not received your Co-op Work Permit letter when you receive your LOA please email admissions@keyano.ca
