Housing Allocation Lottery Process

First Year/First Time and Returning Students at Keyano college

A lottery system has been developed whereby three draws will take place for the 2024-2025 academic year.  Rooms will no longer be assigned on a first-come/first serve basis.

The draws will take place as follows, with specific dates for the draws will be announced soon:

1st Draw -  Mid February

2nd Draw - Mid May

3rd Draw  - Mid June

Once the draw has taken place:

  • Students will be notified if they have been successful in the room lottery and given two-weeks (14 calendar days) to accept their housing offer.

  • A housing deposit of $250 will be required at the time the student accepts their room.

  • Students who accept the room without the $250 deposit will be considered to have declined the room offer.

  • This deposit will be applied to the cost of rent when student moves into residence.

  • If after the two-week deadline the student does not accept the room , the room will be automatically released and added to the second draw.

  • After the Mid-June draw if there are any remaining rooms, all individuals who have not been placed in housing would be entered into a third and final draw.

Refund of Housing Deposit will be administered at the following rate:

Fall TermWinter TermSpring/Summer Term
