Our Mission

edib infographicThe Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB) at Keyano College is committed to cultivating a campus culture where every individual feels valued, heard, respected, and empowered to thrive. Our mission is to collaboratively develop a forward-looking strategy that prioritizes meaningful and proactive structural and individual changes to amplify diversity, activate equity and inclusivity, and strengthen belonging throughout our College.

Through extensive consultation and evidence-based approaches, we aim to embed EDIB principles and best practices into our programming, policies, and procedures.

 

Focus Areas and Dedication:

The Office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging is committed to collaboration and proactive engagement. Our key priorities include:

  • Providing strategic guidance to College leaders on matters related to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging.
  • Leading the development of Keyano College's first institutional EDIB strategy, embedding EDIB values into our daily operations, decision-making processes, and strategic planning.
  • Advising on organizational structures, programs, and policies to promote systemic change and embed EDIB principles at all institutional levels.
  • Providing leadership and coordination for the College’s EDIB Advisory Council.
  • Promoting a learning and working environment that upholds the values of EDIB, recognizing and celebrating the contributions of all members of our diverse community.
  • Collaborating with interested and affected parties to integrate EDIB, intersectionality, anti-racism, and decolonization initiatives.
  • Facilitating EDIB-related communication with internal and external interested and affected parties, offering consultation on high-risk issues pertaining to EDIB matters.
