Keyano College is proud to announce the significant addition of a new Esports Coordinator who will lead the SMG Esports Arena. This appointment marks a pivotal moment in Keyano's commitment to fostering excellence in competitive gaming and enhancing its presence within the esports community.

With an outstanding career transiting several renowned esports organizations, including NRG Esports, Counter Logic Gaming, and Wildcard Gaming, Myra Davis adds a wealth of experience and expertise to the Keyano College Huskies esports team. Davis expects to leverage her proven track record in team building, scouting, and long-term structure building to elevate Keyano Esports to new heights.

Davis boasts six years of semi-professional experience and two years of professional tier-1 experience with CLG and NRG, where she notably settled victory in the League Championship Series in the Summer of 2023, the top-tier League of Legends circuit for North America. Additionally, Davis achieved a 5th placement at the League of Legends World Championship in the same year, solidifying her reputation as a formidable force in the esports realm.

Beyond their achievements in competition, Davis is committed to fostering inclusivity and diversity within the E-Sports community, serving as a mentor for Queer Women of E-Sports and contributing to Riot Game's "Game Changers" program. This is a prestigious invite boot camp designed for high-ranking prospects in League of Legends who identify as marginalized genders.

"My main expectations and goals are all centred around providing opportunities for those that wouldn't normally have them to get support towards college through pursuing their passions in competitive gaming," remarked Myra Davis. For the arena, Davis said, "I want to build everything out for it to be a community hub. A place where people can come for events, watch matches, play during their free time and just be a place where people who normally don't have the spaces to share community can call it home."

"In the dynamic arena of collegiate athletics, the appointment of Myra Davis as our new Esports Coordinator marks a transformative step towards embracing the evolving landscape of sports and competition. With her visionary leadership and passion for gaming, we anticipate Myra will not only cultivate a thriving esports community but also propel Keyano College towards new heights of innovation and inclusivity within the realm of digital athleticism," said Jonathan Lambert Director, Director of Athletics & Recreation.

The introduction of E-Sports in 2023 at Keyano College Huskies underscores the institution's commitment to providing diverse student opportunities. Recognizing the exponential growth of the game industry worldwide, Keyano aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in this dynamic field. Beyond competitive gaming, the E-Sports Arena at Keyano College opens doors to a spectrum of career paths, including programming, art, audio designing, producing, design QA lead, and community management, offering students a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted landscape of the gaming industry and preparing them for success in an ever-expanding market.

Keyano College is delighted to welcome Myra Davis to the Huskies family and looks forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly bring to the E-Sports area.
