About Us
Since its official opening on September 5, 1980, Keyano Theatre has been the centre of community engagement, creativity and entertainment.
Keyano Theatre was made possible by the passion and dedication of the community living in the Town of Fort McMurray in the late 1970s.

Since then, the theatre has seen tremendous change. The population soared from approximately 30,000 to what it is today. The Keyano Arts Centre expansion opened in 1990 and increased our capacity to service the community.
Keyano Theatre is proud to be the producing powerhouse behind the Keyano Theatre Company, affectionately known as "KTC," our community theatre acting troupe.
This volunteer-based acting company is comprised of people such as yourself, your family and friends. Anyone can audition to be in the shows or sign up to volunteer behind the scenes. KTC has brought it all to our region, from high-end Broadway musicals, edgy, thoughtful dramas, laugh-out-loud comedies, and commissioned works that feature our region's stories and talent.
