Keyano College awards $530,000 through 429 student awards.

Keyano College students, donors, alumni, staff, and guests came together on Tuesday, March 14th, for the annual Keyano College Student Awards Ceremony. This year Keyano celebrated excellence in and access to academics by awarding more than 400 scholarships and bursaries.

Through the incredible generosity of more than 100 donors, Keyano college distributed 530,000 dollars of assistance to students this academic year.

“Student Awards assist students by reducing barriers to education, and we know that the more barriers we reduce as a community and as a college, the more we support our leaders of tomorrow rise to meet their every potential.” said awards emcee, and Vice President Academic & Student Experience, Sandra Efu.

This year’s featured donor, Mr. Compton Vigilance, spoke of his family’s storied Keyano history and commitment to Keyano. Mr. Vigilance offered these words of encouragement to the attendees.

"Don’t ever doubt your ability to succeed. You will achieve your dreams if you work hard and stay focused… And remember, it’s okay to make mistakes. Making mistakes is one of the best ways to learn because it will help you improve.  Not everything you do will be perfect because life isn’t perfect.  So, make mistakes, learn from them, and remember them so you can make better decisions in the future."
