Keyano College to deliver majority of Fall courses online

Posted On Tuesday May 26, 2020

In response to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Keyano College will deliver the upcoming Fall semester through on-line delivery wherever feasible.

This decision is based on the best information available and will allow College teams to move forward fully into planning for the critical Fall semester intake. Where necessary, and as Alberta Health Services guidelines permit, the College anticipates delivering limited in-person learning in labs and shops. The College plans to continue offering clinical experience in alignment with the direction from Public Health, Alberta Health Services, and other responsible agencies.

The College plans to provide nimble course offerings that can adapt to any future changes in provincial guidelines, with the hope that in-class instruction may resume at some point in the coming academic year.

Through enhanced online tools and hard work going on behind the scenes, the College commits to support students with access to resources and learning supports as well as providing virtual opportunities to connect with faculty, staff, and fellow students.

The College is also working closely with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) as we plan for the resumption of our apprenticeship programs. We expect more information on this from AIT in the coming days.

Our priority remains keeping students and staff healthy and safe. While this remains a changing situation with many unknowns, we want to assure our community that we commit to provide an exceptional experience for students, one that will prepare them for a career or for further education.

Keyano College’s online registration for fall programs will open May 27 and includes a full range of credit programs in business, childhood studies, environmental technology, university studies, academic upgrading, education, social work, nursing and allied health, power engineering, and more.
