Due to the ongoing challenges with the COVID-19 Pandemic, Keyano College in collaboration with other Alberta Colleges, has made the difficult decision to forgo competing in the 2021 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Winter Athletics season. The three sports affected by this at Keyano College will be Men’s and Women’s, Volleyball, Basketball, and Futsal. In addition, competition in cheer and cricket, which are non ACAC athletics program, will also be suspended.

This decision was made based on the health and wellness of our student athletes and employees. Keyano Executive have already announced that the Winter semester will be delivered in a blended model where most of the classes will be online and only labs will be delivered on campus.

Dale Mountain, Interim President & CEO says, “The health and safety of our students and employees is our foremost priority, and we take all that responsibility very seriously. We remain committed to giving our Huskies athletes the best possible experience and as a result, team practices and training will continue in the winter semester where it can take place in a safe manner and in compliance of Alberta Health Services COVID-19 guidelines”.

We remain committed to the Huskies and our athletics programs as they add so much to the college experience and community. We look forward to the day when we can all show our “Pride in the Pack” and cheer on our Huskies again.
