Keyano College Huskies are proud to announce the hiring of Kira Sutcliffe as the new Women’s Volleyball Head Coach. Kira comes to Fort McMurray after spending last season with the Columbia Bible College of the Pacwest Conference as an Assistant Coach.

Kira played five  years of Volleyball for Capilano University in North Vancouver. During her playing career she was a two time CCAA All-Canadian athlete, two time Capliano Blues Female Athlete of the Year, and twice was Pacwest Championship Tournament All-Star. Once she completed her post-secondary playing career, she went to Copenhagen, Denmark to play one year professionally.

“I am honored to be part of the Huskies Women’s Volleyball team and continue to grow a positive environment and team culture. I am looking forward to moving to Fort McMurray and begin working with these student-athletes as they try and achieve the goals we set in place” says Kira Sutcliffe.

“Huskies Athletics is excited to have Kira join our group of experienced and successful coaches. She brings a history of success as a student-athlete in the PacWest, CCAA and as a professional. I am confident that her experience and drive for success will translate into a successful women’s volleyball program for the Huskies,” says Jonathan Lambert, Director of Sport & Wellness.

Kira will be arriving in Fort McMurray on August 15 and the Women’s Volleyball team starts to train for the 2019/20 season on August 22 at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre.
