Community Adult Learning Program (CALP)

Learn to speak, read, write, and understand English. Students receive an English language assessment and are placed into the appropriate level.

Levels Offered:

• ELL Literacy – Introductory English for beginners
• ELL Level 1/2 – Learning to speak basic English
• ELL Level 3/4 – English for everyday life
• ELL Level 5/6 – English for higher employment and education

Strengthen your reading, writing, and study skills for upgrading, college, or career training. This class builds on basic literacy with grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure practice. Ideal for learners ready to grow beyond the basics and prepare for academic or workplace success.

• Interview skills and workplace culture in Canada
• Networking and communication
• Digital skills (typing and email, online safety and cyber awareness and basic computer and internet skills)

• Computer Basics
• Email Basics
• Introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint
• Introduction to Microsoft Teams
• Internet Safety

Interactive reading, writing, and learning sessions for parents/caregivers and children (ages 2–8).

Join us to practice you English language skills, boost your confidence, and connect with community. Explore a new topic each week.

This workshop is for people preparing for the Alberta Class 7 driver’s test. You will build skills in studying, reading, writing, and test-taking. We will use simple strategies like skimming, note-taking, and memory tips.

Together, we will review all topics in the Driver’s Guide, practice test questions, and learn how to study more effectively. Our goal is to help you feel confident and ready for your test.

Note: Students should have an intermediate level of English to follow the class.

Get help preparing for the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) English proficiency test.

With the assistance of a CALP Tutor, students will meet weekly to:

• Review all components of the CELPIP exam, including Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
• Develop effective test-taking strategies and participate in guided practice activities.
• Prepare for the exam in a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
• Become familiar with the computer-based testing format and digital exam environment
