You’ll study the Alberta Building Code, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards, and other industry regulations to ensure safe and compliant piping systems.

You can begin classroom instruction without an employer. However, to complete your apprenticeship, you must secure an employer who will mentor you through on-the-job training.

An apprentice is someone who is learning on the job, while a journeyperson is a skilled and certified professional in the trade.
