Keyano College’s Industrial Equipment and Safety Programs offer practical, hands-on mobile equipment training tailored for industrial worksites and corporate teams. Delivered by experienced instructors, training is available in-person at Keyano College or on-location at your job site.

Industrial equipment and safety certifications can support roles that involve the safe operation of mobile equipment in industrial and commercial workplaces. Relevant career areas include:

Equipment Operator Forklift Operator Skid Steer Operator Wheel Loader Operator Construction or Industrial Labourer

These certifications may support employment and workplace training requirements in industries such as construction, warehousing and logistics, municipal services, forestry, mining, and oil and gas.

Program Details

To qualify for the Industrial Equipment and Safety Courses, you must:

  • Show a valid Photo ID to the instructor upon arrival to complete the class.
  • Bring and wear your own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including:
    • Steel-toe boots (Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approved)
    • Hard hat
    • Safety glasses
    • Reflective vest 

You may begin classroom instruction without a sponsor or employer, but on-the-job hours require one. Most students benefit from having work experience prior to in-class training.
