Over four years, you’ll blend classroom instruction with extensive hands-on experience, building the skills needed to work in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Aligned with Alberta’s apprenticeship and certification standards, this program prepares you to earn your Journeyperson Certificate and Red Seal designation.

An apprenticeship is a structured training program that combines paid on-the-job experience with classroom instruction to develop fully qualified tradespeople. For Electricians in Alberta, the program spans four years: the first two periods require at least 1,560 work hours and 8 weeks of classroom training each year, while periods three and four require at least 1,500 work hours and 10 weeks of classroom instruction per year.
