Delivered in partnership with PEMAC Asset Management Association of Canada, the Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) Certificate Program equips professionals with the knowledge and tools to manage physical assets and maintenance operations effectively. This nationally recognized program supports reliability improvement, cost efficiency, and strategic asset planning in complex industrial settings.

The MMP designation is ideal for those responsible for managing equipment, infrastructure, or plant operations - including planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What Is the MMP Certification?

The Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) designation is a national credential developed by PEMAC. It’s designed for working professionals in maintenance, operations, or technical services who seek to improve maintenance reliability, planning, and strategy. Upon completion of the full program, participants may be eligible to pursue additional PEMAC certifications.

Program Details

  • Credential: Certificate of Completion (PEMAC-recognized)
  • Delivery: In-person, online, or hybrid (based on client request)
  • Length: 8 modules (typically completed in 12–18 months)
  • Location: Flexible – corporate site or virtual delivery
  • Format: Available only through Corporate Training (minimum 10 participants)

  • PEMAC Membership: 1-year complimentary membership for all participants
  • Grading & Attendance: 60% minimum per module | 80% attendance required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma and relevant work experience recommended

Courses

All MMP modules are developed and endorsed by PEMAC. Learners must complete all eight modules to earn the full certificate:

  • MMP 1: An Integrated Strategy for Maintenance Management 
    Aligns organizational goals with asset and maintenance practices.

  • MMP 2: Production and Operations Management
    Explores the relationship between maintenance planning and production efficiency.

  • MMP 3: Human Resources Management 
    Leadership, motivation, team building, safety, and performance.

  • MMP 4: Financial Management for Maintenance
    Budgeting, cost tracking, MRO inventory, and ROI analysis.

  • MMP 5: Maintenance Strategy Development
    Reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), PM strategies, criticality analysis.

  • MMP 6: Maintenance Work Management
    Scheduling, planning, and proactive maintenance tools.

  • MMP 7: Maintenance Information Management
    Using data and software systems for performance improvement.

  • MMP 8: Capstone Project
    Apply course knowledge to a real-world maintenance or asset management project.

Yes. Keyano College is an authorized PEMAC training partner, and this program leads to the national MMP designation.

Yes. PEMAC awards micro-certificates for completing:

  • Modules 1 & 5: Maintenance Strategy Development Certificate
  • Modules 1 & 6: Maintenance Work Management Certificate

Currently, this program is available through Corporate Training only for groups of 10 or more.

Participants must be 18+ years old. A high school diploma and relevant workplace experience are recommended. Contact us to discuss prior learning recognition through PEMAC.
