This program is designed for internationally educated nurses who want to practice in Canada. It can also be taken as a refresher program for individuals with a Canadian RN licence who want to maintain their nursing practice. The program builds on existing knowledge and experience while focusing on the critical thinking, communication, and cultural competence skills needed for nursing in Canada. Students will learn about the Canadian healthcare system, patient advocacy, and evidence-based practice. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to write the Next Generation NCLEX (NGN-NCLEX) exam, an important step toward becoming a registered nurse in Canada. The program provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment that values diversity and prepares nurses to contribute to patient care and community health.

Who is the Bridge to Canadian Nursing Program for?
The program is designed for internationally educated nurses preparing to practise in Canada. It can also be taken as a refresher by individuals who are currently or were previously registered as an RN in Canada.
How long do I have to complete the program?
All program requirements must be completed within two academic years. Students planning to study part-time must work with the Program Chair to develop a completion plan.
Can I take individual courses without completing the full program?
Yes. Individual courses can be taken to refresh specific skills, or you can complete the full program to earn the Bridge to Canadian Nursing Certificate of Completion.
Does the program include clinical experience?
Yes. The program includes lab and clinical components, including Acute Care Clinical Practice and Transition to Practice.
