Keyano unveils refreshed brand rooted in regional stewardship and shared story
Fort McMurray, AB

Keyano is introducing a refreshed brand identity that reflects its deep connection to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and a renewed focus on regional stewardship.
Grounded in the meaning of Keyano, which is “sharing” in Cree, the renewed brand brings forward a story of connection, resilience, and collective progress. It reflects an institution shaped by its people and place, where learners explore possibilities, discover their strengths, and build meaningful futures.
Inspired by the northern landscape, the updated visual identity features modern typography and a refined colour palette that mirror the region’s character and energy. Like the Athabasca River, which continues to adapt and move forward, Keyano honours its history while embracing what comes next. The brand is guided by a clear purpose to communicate with clarity, consistency, and pride, and to reflect an institution that welcomes all and believes in the transformative power of learning.
Beginning today, the refreshed identity is visible across Keyano’s digital platforms, including official social media channels, the website at Keyano.ca, and corporate email communications. These updates mark the first step in bringing the renewed brand to life.
“This evolution reflects a renewed focus on how we show up for our region and the people we serve,” said Chantal Beaver, Associate Vice President, Public Engagement. “Our brand tells a story of connection, stewardship, and shared progress. It captures who we are as a community and how we continue to create opportunities for learning, growth, and future success.”
The new brand will continue to roll out across additional touchpoints over time as part of a coordinated implementation.
Keyano remains a comprehensive community institution, offering pathways to degrees, diplomas, certificates, university transfer, and continuing education, while continuing to support the region through accessible, responsive learning opportunities.
