Keyano Alumni Support the Inter Pipeline Fort McMurray Marathon
Fort McMurray, AB

Keyano alumni were once again out in the community supporting the Inter Pipeline Fort McMurray Marathon, marking the second-year alumni have volunteered at the annual event.
Held September 20 at MacDonald Island Park, the marathon brought hundreds of participants together for one of Fort McMurray’s largest annual running events. Runners of different ages and abilities took part in six distances, ranging from the CEDA Kid’s Fun Run and 3K to the full 42.2K marathon.
This year’s event welcomed over 700 registered participants and also provided an opportunity to give back through the Run for a Reason program, which supports local charities and non-profit organizations.
Among the many volunteers helping make race day possible were Keyano alumni Shavell Skeel, Jamie McCarthy, Renie Dela Paz, Blessing Bello and Domain Wright.
Their involvement continues a growing tradition of Keyano alumni coming together to support the marathon and the wider Wood Buffalo community. Whether volunteering at community events, supporting local organizations or giving their time in other ways, Keyano alumni continue to make an impact beyond campus.
Thank you to Shavell, Jamie, Renie, Blessing and Domain for representing the Keyano alumni community and helping make this year’s Inter Pipeline Fort McMurray Marathon a success.
