Adele Thomson, a former two-term Director on the Board of Governors, has now been appointed Chair. Thomson brings a strong understanding of Keyano’s mandate and a deep commitment to supporting learners across Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo.

“On behalf of Keyano College, I am pleased to welcome Adele as Chair of the Board of Governors,” said President and CEO Dr. Scott MacPherson. “Her leadership will be instrumental as the College deepens its commitment to regional stewardship and the students and communities we serve.”

The College also welcomes new members, Sandy Martin and Lindsay Pinkney, to the Board of Governors and recognizes Chief Raymond Powder's reappointment to a second term.

The full slate of public members of the Board of Governors, effective June 29, 2026, includes:

  • Adele Thomson, Chair
  • Chief Raymond Powder
  • Lindsay Pinkney
  • Melanie Antoine
  • Sandy Martin
  • Steve Auty
  • Wes Jickling

Keyano College extends its thanks to outgoing Chair Don Scott for three years of service to the Board of Governors. During his term, he was a steady advocate for students, staff, and the broader Keyano community.

As the Board reconvenes in September, it will begin work on the College’s next strategic plan, helping to guide Keyano’s priorities and set a clear direction for the years ahead.
