Fitness Appraisal and Individual Program Design
Following a 1.5-hour fitness appraisal, a wellness specialist designs a personal exercise program to suit your needs.
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Testing
RMR testing measures an individual's metabolism at rest. This is a measurement of how much food and energy is required to maintain basic body functions. RMR testing is used as a tool to identify the number of calories required to lose, maintain, or gain weight.
Maximal test performed on a treadmill using CardioCoach machine to measure maximum oxygen uptake during exercise. VO2 max testing is used to determine physical fitness levels and determine training parameters.
The Physical Abilities Requirement Evaluation (PARE) test is an occupational test used to assess a person’s ability to perform the physical demands of police and similar work by simulating a critical incident of chasing, controlling, and apprehending a suspect. This occupational assessment is used by various agencies including: Alberta Health Services (AHS), Alberta Parks, Alberta Fish and Wildlife, Municipal Peace Officers, Canada Parks, and more. The Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre conducts practice and official PARE sessions in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
AEP Training
A program for ages 8-17. The Athletic Enhancement program is designed to help equip young athletes with skills to have a successful season.
Toddler Time
A parent-supervised program for ages 0-5. Foamies and mats are laid out for toddlers to have fun!
