At Keyano College, we offer a wide range of career-focused programs that are open to international students. Many of our programs are eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), giving you the chance to stay and work in Canada after you graduate.
Whether you're pursuing a one-year certificate, two-year diploma, or a full degree, our programs are designed to give you the hands-on experience, industry connections, and in-demand skills that employers are looking for.
PGWP-Eligible Programs at Keyano
The following programs meet the criteria for study permits and PGWP eligibility based on the CIP (Classification of Instructional Programs) to program alignment set by IRCC:
Co-op and Practicum Requirements
Many programs at Keyano include mandatory work placements such as practicums, co-ops, or community service learning. International students in these programs will need to obtain a Co-op Work Permit through IRCC. Once accepted, you’ll receive a Co-op Work Permit letter from Keyano to help you apply.
Programs that require a co-op work permit include:
- Business Administration (Management, Accounting, HR)
- Early Learning and Child Care
- Educational Assistant
- Social Work
- Environmental Technology
- Health Care Aide
- Practical Nurse
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Program Exemptions
International students are not eligible to take the following programs offered at Keyano College:
- Advanced Care Paramedic
- Hospitality and Tourism Diploma
- 3rd class Power Engineering Co-op
- Power Engineering: CML (exceptions for current work permit holders)
- 4th Class Power Engineering Comprehensive
- Primary Care Paramedic
- Process Operations Co-op
Deferral Information
Prior to March 22nd, 2024 International students accepted into a program were allowed one deferral per application submission. This allowed student to move their application and admission deposit to the next available intake, admission deposit become non-transferable, non-refundable at the time of deferral request.
Effective March 22nd, 2024, International student will no longer be able to request deferrals. This alternation in deferral procedures is a result of the recently introduced IRCC regulations declared on January 22nd, 2024. The introduction of Provincial Attestation Letters (PALs) has constrained our ability to accommodate deferral requests. International student unable to attend their scheduled intake, please reach out to admissions@keyano.ca and inform them that you would like to decline/withdraw from your program.
