Dr. Mark Dolmont

Vice President, Academic and Student Experience

Dr. Mark Dolmont is a respected educator and community leader with nearly two decades of experience living and working in the Wood Buffalo region. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to education across both the public and Catholic school systems, demonstrating a strong commitment to student success and community engagement. 

In his role as Vice President, Academic and Student Experience, Dr. Dolmont provides strategic leadership across the College’s academic and student-facing functions. He leads the members of Deans Council, including oversight of the Schools, Registrar’s Office, Centre for Teaching and Learning, Library, and Student Services, ensuring an integrated and student-centered approach to learning and support. 

Most recently, Dr. Dolmont served as Acting Director of Teaching and Learning with the Fort McMurray Public School Division, where he provided system-level leadership to support instructional excellence and student achievement. Prior to this role, he was the Principal of École McTavish Public High School, where he led the school through a period of substantial growth, supporting a student population of nearly 1,800 learners. 

Dr. Dolmont also brings valuable post-secondary experience to his portfolio. He has served as a sessional instructor at Keyano College and held roles in graduate recruitment and student retention at the University of New Brunswick, further strengthening his understanding of the full learner journey. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education from St. Francis Xavier University, a Master of Education from the University of New Brunswick, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Western University. His doctoral research focused on supporting Indigenous students and advancing inclusive educational practices, reflecting his deep commitment to equity and student-centered learning.
