Keyano College is pleased to announce Chard Métis Nation as the Presenting Sponsor of the Keyano Huskies Women’s Volleyball Team under a new sponsorship that aims to support student-athletes throughout their academic and athletic careers.

Keyano College Athletic and Recreation Director Jonathan Lambert stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Chard Métis Nation as the Presenting Sponsor of the Keyano Huskies Women’s Volleyball Team. This partnership marks a significant step in our commitment to excellence in collegiate sports”.

“The support given to us by the Chard Métis Dene Group of Companies will allow us to continue providing opportunities for student-athletes and to pursue excellence at the highest level,” added Head Coach Tommy Sloan. “We are truly grateful for their support and excited about the program's future!”

The Keyano Huskies Women’s Volleyball team compiled a 13-6 record last season, tying their franchise record for wins in a season, which was also achieved in the 2015-16 season. Placing sixth in the conference, the Huskies earned their best finish ever in conference play since joining the ACAC in 1990-91. The program has produced six of Keyano’s 18 CCAA Academic All-Canadians off the court. In the past five years, student-athletes from the program have been recognized 28 times as CCAA National Scholar Award recipients.

Justin Herman, CEO of Chard Métis Dene Group of Companies, says he is dedicated to cultivating inclusive and resilient communities by prioritizing education and skill advancement. He stated, “One of our main priorities is to build a strong foundation of community supporting community. In this regard, we are delighted to support the Keyano Women's Volleyball Team this year. We wish them the best this season and are excited to see them compete.”

Thank you to Chard Métis Dene Group of Companies for inspiring our student-athletes. With your steadfast support, we have the utmost confidence in the Huskies' capacity to soar to greater heights and strive for excellence.
