Keyano College is committed to ensuring students with disabilities have equitable access to their education through personalized supports, tools, and funding guidance. Adaptive technology and disability grant funding are available to eligible students through Accessibility Services.
Schedule IV Disability Grant Funding
If you are eligible for student loans and have the required disability documentation, you may qualify for government funding to support your academic needs.
Funding may cover:
- Assistive technology and software
- Specialized equipment or services
- Training or support for adaptive tools
- To apply, you must first book an appointment with our Adaptive Technologist.

Accepted Disability Documentation:
- A psychoeducational assessment or
- A completed Disability Verification Form (DVF)
DVFs can be found on your provincial loan application website.
What is Adaptive Technology?
Adaptive (or assistive) technology refers to specialized tools, software, and devices that help students with disabilities learn and participate on equal footing with their peers. This support is available to students with visible or invisible disabilities affecting vision, hearing, cognition, or mobility.
Examples of adaptive technology include:
- Screen readers and magnifiers
- Voice recognition software
- Alternative keyboards or mice
- Adjustable desks and ergonomic furniture
- Augmentative communication devices
Software Available to Keyano Students
All Keyano students have free access to powerful accessibility tools, including:
Read&Write by Texthelp
This text-to-speech and literacy support software is available for download and use with your Keyano login.
Microsoft 365 Suite
Includes accessibility tools such as Immersive Reader, Dictation, and accessibility checkers. Microsoft 365 can be accessed through your Keyano student account.
