Keyano College Launches One-Year IT Specialist Certificate Program for Winter 2026 Semester

Keyano College announces the launch of its new one-year Information Technology Specialist Certificate Program, commencing in January 2026. Delivered in an innovative, apprenticeship-style format, this program is designed to equip new and mature students with the essential, hands-on technical and professional skills to succeed in entry-level IT roles across the region.

The IT Specialist Certificate is a full-time, three-term program offered at Keyano’s Clearwater Campus. Its unique structure combines classroom theory with industry placements, ensuring graduates are job-ready.

The curriculum provides foundational expertise in critical areas of information technology, including:

• PC Hardware and Systems Configuration (aligned with CompTIA A+)
• Network Communications (aligned with CompTIA Network+)
• IT Security Foundations (aligned with CompTIA Security+)
• Operating Systems, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting
• Professional Practices, Project Management, and Career Readiness

“The speed of technological change requires specialized training programs that can adapt and deliver skilled workers quickly,” said Keyano’s Associate Dean of University Studies, Dr. Benjamin Sey.

“Our IT Specialist Certificate integrates classroom learning directly with workplace experience. Graduates will be assets to any organization in need of tech support.”
