Fort McMurray, Alta. (February 24, 2025) – The Keyano Huskies Men’s Volleyball team captured the Bronze Medal at the 2025 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Volleyball Championship Presented by Elite Promotional Marketing this past weekend in Lloydminster, Sask.

In Saturday’s Bronze medal match, the Huskies defeated the host Lakeland College Rustlers 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-16) to earn the program’s eighth medal in the past 12 seasons dating back to 2012-13.

“Anytime that you can have the opportunity to win your last game, regardless of when it is, it’s nice,” Head Coach Keegan Kuhr said. “We play in the toughest conference in Canada. To be third is something to be proud of.”

The Huskies were denied an appearance in a second-straight Championship game by the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks in an instant classic of a matchup Friday. The Huskies defeated the Briercrest College Clippers in four sets to begin the tournament Thursday.

Rafael Parada Lima (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) led the Huskies with 38 kills in the three weekend matches. Brody Kopec (Red Deer, Alta.) had 27 kills followed next by Athus Silva (Campinas, Brazil) with 24 and Preston Yole (Île-à-la-Crosse, Sask.) with 20.
