Be Part of the Pack: Keyano Huskies Athletics

At Keyano College, sport is more than competition — it’s community, pride, and relentless pursuit of excellence. The Keyano Huskies compete in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), proudly representing Fort McMurray on provincial and national stages.

Our student-athletes train hard, play harder, and make history — and they do it with the full support of a college that believes in their success on and off the field.

Our Basketball Teams

The Huskies basketball program is on the rise — and making headlines. In 2023–24, the men’s team made history by capturing both the ACAC Championship and Keyano’s first-ever CCAA National Championship, bringing home the title and igniting school pride.

The women’s team continues to build momentum in the ACAC, with a roster full of emerging talent, grit, and drive. With strong coaching, committed athletes, and a growing presence in the league, the future is bright for Huskies basketball on both sides of the court.

Our Volleyabll Teams

The Huskies volleyball teams continue to make waves across Canada. The men’s team brought home the ACAC Championship in 2018–19 and a CCAA Bronze Medal in 2017–18, proving their ability to perform at the highest levels under pressure.

Meanwhile, the women’s team has gained national recognition for their dedication, sportsmanship, and competitive edge — quickly becoming one of the most promising teams in the ACAC North. Together, they form a program built on power, unity, and next-level play.

Participation Policy for Student-Athletes

To ensure fairness and safety in sport, Keyano College has implemented a Participation Policy for Student-Athletes. This policy aligns with the Government of Alberta's Fairness and Safety in Sport Act and Regulation, addressing eligibility criteria for participation in relevant sports. All student-athletes must adhere to these guidelines to maintain eligibility.

Our Soccer Teams

With four ACAC Championships, including an unprecedented three in a row from 2015–2017, and a CCAA Silver Medal on their record, the men’s soccer team is one of the most decorated programs in the conference. They added another banner in 2023–24, extending their legacy as top-tier competitors.

The women’s team brings intensity, technical skill, and a growing reputation for strong showings and development. Backed by excellent coaching and a relentless work ethic, both squads embody what it means to play with pride.

Our Futsal Teams

The Huskies are rewriting the record books. The men’s futsal team has claimed eight ACAC Championships, the most of any institution — with their most recent title in 2023–24. Their fast, strategic play has made them a dominant force year after year.

The women’s futsal team earned their own moment of glory in 2022–23, winning their first-ever ACAC Championship on home court. With dynamic rosters, top-level coaching, and unmatched momentum, both teams are shaping the future of the sport.
