Hospitality Management Diploma

With a focus on service to others, the Hospitality Management Diploma program will prepare students for a career in this diverse yet integrated industry. Developed with input from industry experts, students gain practical experience, while learning from and networking with industry professionals, within our regional hospitality and tourism organizations. 

Students gain real-world knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industries that will allow them to develop skills related to customer service, business communications & technologies; financial management; marketing & sales; laws, safety & security; workplace regulations; human resource management, leadership, travel & tourism. All of these are key components of this diploma.

Developed with input from industry experts, the Hospitality & Tourism Management Diploma is an innovative apprenticeship-style program that enables students to gain practical experience, while learning from and networking with hospitality and tourism industry professionals within the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

This 16-month diploma program consists of 15 courses and 5 paid work placements. Both classes and work placements are delivered in five to eight week-long periods. Students gain real-world knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industries that will allow them to develop skills related to customer service, business communications and technologies, financial management, marketing and sales, occupational safety and security, workplace regulations, human resource management, leadership, as well as current trends in travel and tourism.
