Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)

Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) program is a self-guided, online course, to learn practical skills and protection strategies to stay safe in a construction job. The program was developed by the Alberta Construction Association (ACSA) and it aims to reduce the number of accidents and injuries in Alberta's construction industry.

Admission requirements

You will need a government issued piece of picture identification.

Tuition and fees

Currently the course is free until Deember 31, 2020. You pay a fee of $25+GST for  using our computer lab.

Registration

You do not need prior registration for the course.  Walk-ins allowed, before 9 am.

Program structure

CSTS 2020 is the upgraded version of CSTS-09. CSTS 2020 is comprised of nine standard modules grouped together and called CSTS 2020 Fundamentals and optional Add-on Modules. On its own, CSTS 2020 Fundamentals is an interactive nine-module online course that serves as a general construction site orientation for workers new to the construction industry. And, it takes only 2 to 3 hours to complete.

CSTS 2020 Add-on Modules are job-specific training modules to help employers customize to fit their specific job site requirements.

The certification does not expire.

Location and schedules

CSTS program is available in Room BL141 in the Bob Lamb Building at the Clearwater Campus. We are open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday, except on statutory holidays.

Replacement cards

You can get CSTS replacement cards by printing them from your ACSA Student Services account (set up at registration), calling 1-800-661-2272 or emailing ACSA Support to order it.
