Keyano Theatre joins the Canada wide Live Entertainment Industry to light up the night

Posted On Wednesday September 23, 2020

Light Up the Night is an initiative by the live events community across Canada, and Keyano Theatre is taking part.  Performance venues from across Canada will be raising awareness for the live entertainment industry that has been shut down due to COVID-19 by lighting up their facilities in red.  The goal is to remind us that the live entertainment industry is suffering with over 2,000 university and college educated professionals impacted and out of work.

On Tuesday, September 22, an hour after sundown, the front of the theatre lobby will be lit in red in support of the nationwide Light Up Live campaign.

“From the Belfry Theatre in Victoria, BC to the Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay, NS, even the CN Tower will light up.  Keyano Theatre is pleased to be participating in this event,” said Interim President and CEO, Dale Mountain. “Keyano Theatre is an integral part of the arts community in Fort McMurray and I think we’re all excited for the day we can fill the seats again and enjoy some outstanding performances.”

Keyano Theatre is not only the second most northern venue in Alberta but the largest arts venue in Northern Alberta.  Participating venues include MacEwan University, University of Calgary, the Citadel Theatre, and Winspear Centre along with Keyano Theatre.
