Keyano College responding to flooding situation

Keyano College property is being impacted by flooding.

The Main College campus has been evacuated following orders from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, all personnel have left, and there is no threat to staff.

As of Monday afternoon, water had risen enough compromising College buildings. Staff were able to shut down power to the downtown campus and moved IT servers to the Suncor Energy Industrial Centre to ensure operations at the College can continue.

Students and employees living in Penhorwood and Clearwater Hall residences were all evacuated safely on Sunday evening, and Riedel residences on Monday afternoon.

The College thanks the RMWB for all its support in transporting our staff and students to an alternate location, along with College staff and security who have had a hand in helping during these challenging times.
