Popular countertenor coming to Keyano Theatre
(Fort McMurray, October 16, 2019) For one magical night only, Keyano Theatre and Syncrude Arts Alive is proud to present world-renowned countertenor Terry Barber performing the hits of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Barber is a well-known name in the music industry, and in this special performance, he brings the magic of musicals together, featuring iconic numbers from Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, and more.
Terry Barber is a rare countertenor with an extraordinarily broad vocal range and natural fluency in many musical styles. His extraordinary talents include singing a four-part harmony by himself! He has been featured on some of the world’s most storied stages and has worked with many of the music industry’s most prestigious songwriters, composers, producers, and conductors. Past member of the Grammy winning group, Chanticleer, Barber has been a soloist for the best venues around the world, from the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall, to Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall.
His recorded voice has appeared on every major record label, with Grammy-winning artists such as Madonna, Jewel, Chaka Khan, Cyndi Lauper, Steve Smith, and many more. Whether performing classical or popular favorites, he “breathes new life into everything he sings” and crafts what the Los Angeles Times calls “performances of great vitality and verve.”
