The Keyano College Huskies have been chosen to host the 2021 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Men’s Volleyball Championship.

Eight of the province’s best collegiate men’s teams will take part in the event from February 25-27, subject to COVID-19 and provincial government measures.

“Huskies Athletics is excited to be named host of the 2021 ACAC Men’s Volleyball Championships. Events like this not only positively impact sport in our region, but showcase our community and facilities,” said Director of Athletics, Sport and Student Wellness, Jonathan Lambert.

The Huskies have seen a lot of success in recent years. In the 2018/19 regular season, the team earned Keyano’s first ever men’s volleyball ACAC Championship and finished the year with a 4th place at Nationals. Last year, the Huskies ended the season second in the ACAC North Division at 19-5 and lost in the first round of playoffs.

“We are grateful for the opportunity to host the ACAC Championship. The program has come a long way and the team deserves a chance to win a championship at home competing against the best teams in Alberta. We look forward to the hometown support to cheer us on,” said Head Coach, Keegan Kuhr.

All games for the Championship will take place at the Syncrude Sports and Wellness Centre.

The Keyano Huskies have also been chosen to host the 2021 ACAC Futsal Championships from March 12-14.
