Keyano College is pleased to be one of the post-secondary institutions receiving a Kickoff Grant of $25,000 as part of the Bell Let’s Talk initiative.

Keyano was one of the successful applicants to receive funding supporting the voluntary National Standard of Canada for Mental and Well-Being for Post-Secondary Students initiative. Dr. Sandra Efu, Director of Student Services said, “Keyano College is extremely excited to receive this grant to aid in the mental health and welfare of our students. At a time when the stresses of being a student have increased tremendously, mental well-being is more important than ever. This grant will help ensure that we not only recognize the pressures students face but have funds to be able to combat them.”

Keyano College has identified three pillars the funds from the Bell Let’s Talk initiative will help to support:

  • Transition: A program to help equip new students with information about the support they can access at Keyano College.
  • Creation of videos: These will promote services that students can access along with the Early Alert Program.
  • Mental Health First Aid Training: Workshops offered to Keyano College employees to engage them in the awareness of mental health issues.
