Minister Nicolaides visit Keyano for the launch of Strategic Plan

(Fort McMurray, AB – November 21, 2022) – Board Chair Joe MacNeil and President & CEO Jay Notay were pleased to present the new 2022-2025 Strategic Plan to Minister Nicolaides alongside local MLA Tany Yao, the Parliamentary Secretary for Rural Health, Lora Pillipow, Deputy Minister Advanced Education, and representatives from the Keyano Board, Executive, faculty, and staff.

Inspired by Alberta 2030, Keyano’s Board and Executive conducted various internal and public consolations engaging six different stakeholder groups, which included employers, industry, Indigenous communities and partners, social profit organizations, and Keyano Staff, faculty, and students. 

With the overarching Vision of “Educating to Change Lives,” the plan is based on four strategic pillars aligned with the Key Goals of the Province’s Alberta 2030 – Skills for Jobs initiative.

“On behalf of the Keyano College, I would like to thank Minister Nicolaides, MLA Tany Yao, and other guests for joining us here at Keyano for our launch and tour of our campus,” said Jay Notay, President & CEO.  “We are pleased that through the advice and recommendations received from our stakeholder engagement, this plan provides the College a clear focus on addressing the labour market needs within the region we serve.”

“I too, would like to personally thank Minister Nicolaides and guests for joining us today,“ added Joe MacNeil, Board Chair. “We are very proud of the work that has been done, and we are confident this plan will guide the success of the College for the next three years.” 

After the launch presentation, the Minister and guests toured the campus.
