(Fort McMurray, AB – November 7, 2022) – Hundreds of guests gathered on November 5 to celebrate the triumphant return of the highly anticipated Keyano College Gala, presented this year by Bouchier. The Keyano College Gala is the college’s largest fundraising event of the year and has not been held since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year’s sold-out event saw an increase in donors and donations; further, guests generously participated in silent and live auctions and purchased raffles from the Huskey Booster Club. Monies raised will support our students in their academic and athletic pursuits. Notably, 15 thousand dollars from Bouchier’s title sponsorship will be dedicated towards meaningful engagement with Indigenous students, alumni, Elders, and other Indigenous partner organizations to inform the redevelopment of dedicated Indigenous student spaces that are warm, safe, representative, and respectful of the traditions and teachings of local Indigenous communities and peoples.

“On behalf of the Keyano College, I would like to thank Bouchier as presenting sponsor and all our partners, donors, and friends for supporting the Gala and investing in the future of Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo,” said Jay Notay, President & CEO, Keyano College. “The tremendous support we have received is an important reminder of how generous our community is.”

“I would like to acknowledge the hard work of the College staff and students, and the many volunteers who helped to make Gala 2022 a success,” added Notay.

This year, guests enjoyed great food and live entertainment from Juno Awards-winning artists Calleigh Cardinal and iconic Canadian rockers Loverboy.  Guests also had ample opportunity to socialize and network throughout the evening. Next year’s event is set to take place on November 4, 2023.
