Keyano Theatre is continuing its commitment of supporting, nurturing and mentoring our live performance artists, by creating opportunities for our emerging talent.
For the first show of the Drama Season, Sexy Laundry, Keyano Theatre is looking to hire a local community director.
The director for Sexy Laundry is the key person in the creative process and the driving force to guide, challenge and inspire our local volunteer actors to bring this story to life onstage and share it with our community.
The successful candidate will be thoroughly involved with the creation of this project and will work collaboratively with the Keyano Theatre production team on designs, auditions, rehearsals and the performances, taking this show from first read through to the closing night.
We guarantee this to be a very fun and rewarding experience!
Auditions will take place - either June 22nd, 23rd 24th (preferred) or Mid July (July 27th, 28th, 29th)
Rehearsals run from August 22, 2018 to September 22nd, on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Friday evenings from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Saturdays from 10 am – 6 pm
September 26 - Lighting level sets (1:00 pm- 5:00 pm)
September 27 - Lighting level sets (1:00 pm -5:00 pm)
September 28 - Audio level set Friday (1:00 pm – 5:00 pm)
September 26 - First rehearsal on the stage/set (6:00 pm – 11:00 pm)
September 29 –Que to Que technical rehearsal (9 am – 6:00 pm)
September 30, Technical rehearsals (2) (12:00 pm- 9:00 pm)
October 1 - OFF
October 2 - Dress Rehearsal (6:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
October 3 - Dress Rehearsal (6:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
October 4 - Preview (6:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
October 5 - Opening Night 8:00 pm
Show runs take place October 6th, 11th, 12th, 13th
Once rehearsals begin, there is a requirement to be in attendance for weekly production meetings, as well as be available to provide direction and answers as required in a timely manner. The director is responsible for communicating with our contracted costume, set, and lighting designers and to meet the production deadlines.
Keyano Theatre will endeavor to find a mutually agreeable time, but strive to have our production meetings finish prior to 5:00 pm on weekdays.
