The Write Break Adult Literacy office is funded by the Community Network and is hosted by Keyano College. The Write Break program is designed to help adults who want to improve their literacy skills in reading, writing, spelling, math and English as a Second Language.
There is absolutely no charge to participate in the program as a learner or a tutor.
Who can be a learner?
Any adult 18 years of age or older living in Alberta. The Learner is given a skills assessment (free of charge) by the Write Break Coordinator to determine any areas needing help.
Who can be a tutor?
Any interested adult willing to volunteer 2 hours per week. Sign up today - We need you and you can help!
Matching a tutor's teaching style with a learner is the key to being successful. The tutor is interviewed and screened by the Write Break Coordinator who matches the learner with a tutor. The Write Break Coordinator maintains contact with both the tutor and learner to ensure that their time together is mutually beneficial.
