December 29, 2017 feature Tribute to the Chambers sisters

The time you won your town the race

We chaired you through the market-place;

Man and boy stood cheering by,

And home we brought you shoulder-high.

For every 1,000 births, the odds are that there will be at least one set of triplets.

Bridget, Grace and Zara Chambers are fraternal triplets from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

Sports are a main stay in their life.

Grace is a member of University of Calgary Dinos women's wrestling program, while Bridget and Zara are teammates on the Keyano Huskies women's soccer team.

To-day, the road all runners come,

Shoulder-high we bring you home,

And set you at your threshold down,

Townsman of a stiller town.

That 1-in-1,000 world changed the morning of Saturday December 16, 2017 as Bridget and Zara were in a car accident south of Fort McMurray.

According to Wood Buffalo RCMP, the Honda Civic in which the girls were traveling in rear-ended a parked flatbed tow truck at approximately 95 kilometres south of Fort McMurray on Highway #63, near Mariana Lake.

Zara, who was driving, was pronounced dead at the scene while Bridget later expired at an Edmonton-area hospital due to injuries received.

Smart lad, to slip betimes away

From fields where glory does not stay,

And early though the laurel grows  <
