“Against NAIT (Ooks) we came in over confident…we were too relaxed,” said Huskies head coach Murad Sukru. “It opened our eyes a bit and we will go back to the drawing board and we will be fine.”

 

Keyano Huskies advance to the 2017 ACAC Men’s Soccer Championships to be held October 27-28, 2017 in Edmonton and hosted by the NAIT Ooks. Finishing No. 1 in the ACAC North the Huskies received a bye and will play the semi-final game October 28, 2017 at 12 p.m. against the winner of the quarter-final Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder vs. Lethbridge Kodiaks. Games at Emerald Hills Sports Pavilion in Sherwood Park. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Huskies have had the best ACAC North Division record.

Keyano Huskies men’s soccer are two-time defending ACAC Men’s Soccer Champions. They defeated SAIT Trojans 2-0, in 2016 and Lethbridge Kodiaks 1-0 in 2015.

At the 2016 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Soccer National Championships hosted at Fort McMurray’s Shell Place last year, the Huskies captured a silver medal, falling short to CCAA defending champion Humber Hawks 2-0.
