Using NEOS

NEOS is a cooperative library consortium, established in 1994, consisting of eighteen government, hospital, college and university libraries throughout Alberta.

The NEOS Library Consortium Catalogue contains over 5 million items and is second in size only to the University of Toronto's library catalogue.

What does this mean for Keyano Library users?

  • "One place to look" – our catalogue had been upgraded to include the over 5 million items owned by NEOS member libraries.
  • Items in this catalogue can be requested directly by Keyano staff or students on or off campus.
  • You may request any circulating book title from the online catalogue and it will be delivered to your most convenient NEOS library (for most of you that will be the Keyano Library, Clearwater Campus.)  If the book title is available, it should be delivered in 3-6 working days.
  • Staff and students who borrow materials from other NEOS libraries will be subject to overdue and lost fees from the holding library.
  • Interlibrary loans will still be available for any materials which cannot be obtained through NEOS.

More questions?  Please feel free to contact library staff with any questions you may have and/or check out the Frequently Asked Questions created by NEOS.
