Instructional Design is the generative force behind the growth and development of a post-secondary educational institution. Effective instructional design methods ensure Keyano College continues to deliver high quality courses that enhance the student learning experience. The Learning Innovation & Library Services provides comprehensive assistance to Faculty, Chairs, and Deans for the creation or refinement of quality courses and programs. This activity is in alignment with the Comprehensive Institutional Plan since an increasing number of “students and clients expect comprehensive online resources, flexible delivery options and integrated multimedia as part of course and program delivery” (8). The instructional design model used in the Learning Innovation & Library Services is a combination of A.D.D.I.E. (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate), Rapid Prototyping (creating and evaluating in increments), and Understanding by Design (UbD-starting with outcomes to create a course). Feel free to drop by for customized training and support if you are developing courses for face to face (f2f), blended or online delivery.
