Food service plan for start of semester

August 25, 2010 3:16:01 PM

Tremendous progress has been made over the summer on the Cafeteria Redevelopment Project.  However, the new facility will not be ready to prepare food and serve clients until the end of September. Ovation Catering & Banquets is working closely with our Business Operations and Facilities teams to set-up alternate food services in time for the start of the fall semester.

A temporary servery will be created in the student lounge area of the Syncrude Technology Centre along with a seating area.  Additional seating will be available in a tent located in Doug MacRae Park directly adjacent to the student lounge.  Food will be prepared in a mobile production kitchen that will be brought to the Clearwater Campus in the coming days.

Additional service will be provided from the small trailer that has been sitting behind Facilities.  This unit will be moved to the parking spaces in front of Clearwater Hall (Purple Palace) and offer a limited menu and some fast food items.  Picnic tables will be set-up close by as a seating area.  Our guests from Composite High School will be directed to this location for service.

Both venues will be open for business at 8 am with coffee, tea and limited breakfast items.  They will stay open until 2 pm.  We are working towards being fully operational early next week.

Express bus service survey

August 25, 2010 2:05:00 PM

Keyano College is interested in finding out if there is enough interest to request expanded bus service to our Clearwater Campus.  The key question is whether you would be more inclined to use public transit if direct and express routes were available to our location downtown.

A survey has been created to better understand how our students and staff are using the bus service now, and how they might use it in the future.  The information we collect will be presented in aggregate form to the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo to support a request for additional services.

Please click here to complete this survey, a series of questions that should only take you a few minutes to complete.  Your input will provide valuable data to guide changes and improvements to our transit system services.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
