Early Learning & Child Care courses are based on the philosophy that children thrive in developmentally appropriate, child-centered play programs that use problem-solving methods of guidance. If you share this philosophy and are looking for a program that integrates theory and practice, then Keyano's Early Learning and Child Care Program is a perfect fit. You'll also have the opportunity to put your in-class learning to work by using your skills in the College's pre-school level Play Program.

Transferability

Graduates of the Early Learning and Child Care Program are eligible for transfer to the following institutions:

• Athabasca University: Bachelor of Professional Arts - Human Services
• University of Alberta: Bachelor of Education - Elementary

• ELCC Certificate or equivalent.
• Alberta High School Diploma, or equivalent, with a minimum of 50% in English 30/30-1 or 65% in English 33/30-2.
• Mature students (21 years of age or older) with less than a high school diploma are encouraged to apply. Applicants will be considered after their overall strengths have been determined through a combination of an interview with ELCC staff and pre-admission testing. Mature students may be admitted as special students to individual ELCC courses.
• Foreign student applications will be reviewed on an individual basis, subject to passing an English proficiency exam. An RCMP security check, and childcare first aid must be completed before students begin their first practicum. Necessary forms for these requirements will be provided to full-time students upon registration.
