The Aboriginal Entrepreneurship Certificate Program is continually evolving. As the economy of the region changes and shifts, so too must the training and educational resources we offer. Whether your business idea is a café, an accounting firm or a mobile welding service, this Program will allow you to seize the many opportunities offered in this region.
In the comfort of your home community, you can take courses designed to help create a solid business plan. From start to finish, every learning module and assignment is relevant to your business and future plans.
This Certificate Program will provide you with the tools to:
With courses now offered through the Web, taking the Program at your own pace now allows for continuity of family and job commitments. The guidance of the instructors and other learning supports are always there to call upon. Completion of the Program will qualify you to apply for a start up loan of $5,000 to $20,000 offered through the Business Development Bank of Canada.
Applicants must possess an Alberta High School Diploma or equivalent or mature student status.
Mature students (21 years of age or older) are encouraged to apply. They may be admitted as special students with a recommendation from a current employer, oil sands industry or other workplace experience or based on current entrepreneurial ventures.
All applicants must meet with the Coordinator to be accepted into the program.
