FORT MCMURRAY, ALBERTA –RBC will provide more opportunities for recent theatre and arts graduates by supporting the Keyano College Emerging Artist Project.
“This is an exciting project that delivers real benefits for emerging artists, for our community, and for our theatre programming,” said Alan Roberts, Director, Keyano Theatre and Arts Centre. “We are extremely grateful for RBC’s support.”
Through a $30,000 donation from RBC, the Keyano Theatre and Arts Centre will be able to hire and support more emerging artists, who will be able to hone their skills in areas of design; costume, set, and lighting, as well as stage management and directing.
The project provides access to technology, staff, and other resources that emerging artists need and the necessary experience to help them secure meaningful work in their field. As they build experience and launch their careers, in turn, emerging artists provide mentorship, guidance, networking opportunities, and other supports for artists of all ages in our community.
With RBC’s assistance, the Theatre will be able to engage more emerging artists in its upcoming theatre and arts programming.
"RBC is proud to support the Keyano College Emerging Artist Project. Together, we're taking one more step towards our goal of bridging the gap between emerging and established artists in communities where we live and work. RBC's support of the arts has been a long-standing priority as we recognize that the arts play an important role in building vibrant communities and strong economies." - Tana LeBlanc, Community Manager, RBC Fort McMurray
“RBC has been an important supporter of the College for many years and we deeply appreciate their ongoing assistance.” - Fred Russell, Keyano College, Vice President, Community Relations.
