Provided conditions do not change, officials are allowing re-entry to Fort McMurray’s lower townsite on June 1.
Reidel or Penhorwood Properties
Residents at the Reidel or Penhorwood properties will have access to their units.
PLEASE NOTE: as part of restoration work fridges and freezers are being removed from these units. Extended power outages have resulted in spoiled food and pose a biohazard risk. While Keyano Housing provided appliances will be replaced by the College, residents should not expect replacements to be in place by June 1. If you plan on returning June 1, and are bringing perishable items, bring a cooler.
Clearwater Hall (Purple Palace)
Clearwater Hall (Purple Palace) residents may retrieve personal belongings after June 7. Unfortunately you are not able to stay in your room at this time as there may still be restoration work that needs to be done to the building; the scope of this will be clearer after May 31. It should also be noted, that the Clearwater Hall is being used as a residence for emergency officials. Student occupied rooms prior to the evacuation have been locked and untouched.
Visit alberta.ca/emergency for more information on what to bring and how to prepare for re-entry.
Should you have any questions about Housing, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
As well, though Keyano email systems are now up and running, the Student Information System still remains down which limits our access to information.
If students have any urgent questions that have not been addressed through previous updates, you may contact the Registrar at email@example.com. We will get back to you as soon as we can. Given our limited access to information and resources at this time, we appreciate your patience.
Further updates will be posted to our primary social media accounts, facebook.com/keyanocollege and @KeyanoCollege, when new information is available.
