Quality donation to Keyano College

The Quality Group of Companies has made a significant contribution to the Keyano College Foundation’s Equipped for the Future initiative. The donation, valued at $144,000, includes a 1994 Western Star Digger Truck and 2000 GMC Bucket Truck.

“It is difficult to find the funds to purchase equipment for our department, so we are grateful to the Quality Group for this donation,” said DJ Villeneuve, Director of Facilities, Keyano College.

Villeneuve’s staff will use the trucks for maintenance purposes around Keyano’s campuses and residence buildings.

Dr. Kevin Nagel, President & CEO, Keyano College believes that this latest donation to Equipped for the Future underscores the impressive support industry has provided to the equipment-raising initiative.

“We are delighted by the overall impact Equipped for the Future donors are having on Keyano College,” said Nagel.

“Some of the equipment is used for operator training, some for safety and medical training, and the trucks generously donated by the Quality Group of Companies will be used to maintain College facilities.”

Dale Unruh, President and CEO, Quality Group of Companies, is also the Chair of the Keyano College Foundation Board of Directors. He is thrilled to support the College with this equipment because he knows that while the trucks will not initially be used for any training programs, the donation will impact students indirectly.

“The trucks will allow Keyano’s Facilities department to maintain and improve the grounds and buildings which will in turn create a better overall campus experience for students and visiting community members,” said Unruh.

Since late 2009, over $2.3 million worth of equipment has been donated or loaned to Keyano College through the Equipped for the Future initiative. Other items needed by Keyano College include: midsized wheel loaders and excavators, aerial work platforms, skid steers and forklifts.
